6. The love of God
1 Many people say that God is
love. But love is a word which is varying to different creatures. If you see
today, everywhere in the cinema and all, the world talks about love. From the
things of this world we can know the nature of God.
2 In one place the bamboo trees
caught fire. Then there were some small ones of a good great bird. And the bird
tried to save the small ones. When it could not save the children, that bird
fell into the fire and perished with those children. If those birds could have
such love, how much God would have love for you!
3 Today, man catches the things
of this world and gives love to that. A man loves a girl. And for a few months
he will say, “Sweet heart, my honey”, and all these things. Then after child
birth, he begins to think: “Why I got married to this lady?” And then that love
goes away. So today man has found out, that this love is not a permanent love.
4 Many people for the sake of
love, they have burnt themselves. Many people for the sake of love, they have
committed suicide. Many people for the sake of love, even - they forsook
everything - and the throne even, and went. Even birds, animals, dogs - there
is great stories about their love.
5 What is God's love? Man looks
at the world and sees the sufferings of the people and then he blames: “Why God
should do this? Has God got eyes?”
6 Suppose a man goes from Bhilai
to Vizag, the train goes, and the front portion comes visible, back portion
disappears. So he can know the place at that moment where the train is, and the
backside goes away, the front is coming to view. But when a man goes by plane,
he can see the end, he can see the place he left, and also the place where he
is there. So we cannot understand God's ways.
7 Suddenly somebody gets blind. The
question always is asked: “Why? And, who did the mistake?” Sometimes we put the
blame on the father, sometime on the karma, and sometimes we put the blame on
the child itself.
8 Why do we want to have
children? You ask a father in this world; bringing up children is very bad -
very difficult. Then why the parents still want children? They want to lavish
their love on their children. That is why God created us, because He had love,
He wanted to shower His love on us. If God is love, He has to create. So we
have to have a clear idea about God.
9 In our country, there is enough
Bhakthi1. Everybody will be doing puja2 to something.
And if you ask them, he says: “We get blessings from this.”
10 But you must understand, what is
God? God means: An object of worship. So we see something to worship it - that
is 'God'. So God knew the character of man. He knows from the beginning to the
end.
11 As I told you, God is a Spirit.
He has no form. But He wanted to create. He had a good nature. But He wanted to
reveal Himself to man. That is why the first Person whom God created was
Narayana. Christians will say, Christ Jesus. Why I am telling this is: When He made Him, He knew who will come into the world, He knew what kingdoms will reign in this
world, He knew what kingdom will
do mischief, and He knew what
kingdom will be destroyed, and He
wanted to have fellowship with man.
12 Now suppose there is an elephant,
it wants to have fellowship with an ant, the elephant must become an ant.
If God's Spirit wanted to have fellowship
with man, He must become a man.
That is why I want to tell you about the love of God today.
13 In 1943, the Lord touched me and
showed me His love. So my wife and three children are going behind Him like mad
people. He wants our love. He wants you to love Him totally.
14 Today 'what is a religion' means:
Religion is - sought for the wedding, for the burial, and for some rituals, we
have religion.
15 If you go to church regularly,
you are called 'a very good man'. If you can become a good man by going to a
temple and church, you can become an Ambassador car by going to the car shed
everyday. Temples cannot change you. He wants you to depend on Him, as a wife
depending on her husband.
16 People may fight over religion.
But for forty five years I have been doing research work, and now I know what
is truth and what is depending on God. The moment you get the peace of God....
What do the people do? They form a group and then have a leader and they'll
say: “We are all a group”. But you can form a group only by leaving God.
17 If you love God, He wants you to
depend on Him. If you depend on things of this world or some groups, you are
committing spiritual adultery. The husband will get very angry, not for
breaking a pot, not for losing something, but for disloyalty.
18 One day I was in America. A very
big, popular church called me. “You are a very good preacher. We wanted you to
become a missionary for us, and we will help you.”
19 Many good religious people have
been killed by the foreign money. Better you never got peace. Oh, repent and go
to God!
20 When I went to that church, there
were about nearly seven thousand two hundred members. They told in the mike: “A
great man, Mr. Lawrie in India, is coming here to join us.” But I could never
sell my country to anybody. And I want all the Indians to be very loyal to the
country. That is our responsibility. We must fuse ourselves into one family and
not fight over minor things in this country. That is why I am preaching today.
21 As I was going in the bus, I had
a vision: I was naked. And a voice came: “Be careful that no man take away your
garment.” They were talking about giving lot of money. I went in. I said:
“Brothers and sisters, I won't sell God for money. I am not joining you. I am
going on, on the road, as a sadhu3.” God
blessed me very much. That depending on God - don't commit spiritual adultery.
22 Everybody think seriously: Where
is your heart? No mediation necessary for anything. That is why God created
Narayana.
23 So God in His foreknowledge, He
was selecting a Man and created that Parama Purusha. Today I want to tell you,
that He is a man.
24 So this first sacrifice, what He
did was: In Vedas it is said, “The Parama Purusha did a great sacrifice.”
Before sacrifice was done on the earth, the sacrifice was done in heaven
itself, at the time of the first creation. And He was without sin. He was holy.
25 So as He was killed, that Ghost
was taken out. Because He was holy, that was called Holy Ghost. And He was
given eternal life, a deathless body, and He can take His life and put it on
somebody and do the work. And His own body was the form of a Man who was
chosen. That was hidden from the foundation of the world. In the end time it
has to be revealed.
26 So that Person was called
Narayana or Christ Jesus or Allah or Parameshwara. And the Spirit of the Lord
filled that Person, so that He contained the Spirit of the Lord. So He had no
‘self’, because the ‘self’ was taken out. That Ghost has to come into everybody
to make him holy. It will take your sin away and karma away. When that comes
into you, you have to empty yourself and be filled with the Ghost.
27 You must read these books and
find out, that you have to do what the books say. Then your Ghost will grow.
Otherwise you cannot go in glory.
28 So the Spirit of the Lord spoke
through Narayana and created the whole thing. So the unseen God was in Him and
He is the Creator. What word comes from His mouth is truth. And He never tells
a lie. What He tells He will fulfil. That is why it is called 'Spirit of
Truth'. So, that is having eternal life.
29 So if a man has karma, he has to
get - this Holy Spirit to get into his body, to get rid of karma. You don't
have to pay for it. You have to ask God: “Clean my life and take away karma”;
then this Spirit comes into you.
30 Then, man was in sin. He was
touching these five senses. And God knew out of love: These people can never
overcome sin. Then He came down to do the sacrifice. That will take your karma
away. But when the British took that and came,....
31 Now mind you, Jesus was from
Asia. He is not a Western Person. No religious leaders came from the West. They
all came from the East. But they took Him and called ‘their’ God, and twisted
His teaching and made India slaves. That is why, Indians completely left the
sacrifice. That is why they wanted to pour ghee into the Omagundam4 and finish with
that. So they'll simply pour ghee and then say: “Our karma is gone.” Because if
they take sacrifice, they have to take Narayana's sacrifice coming as Christ.
32 What did the Muslims do? Instead
of going to Christianity, they wanted to form - and they called Bakrid5. That is: To sacrifice a lamb, for- instead of them.
So God made a plan, that without sacrifice your karma cannot go.
33 But you must understand: Certain
things Christians have gone wrong also. Christ Jesus created Jesus. Because He
cannot die, He created another body to die. Any sacrifice will have to be burnt
into ashes.
34 If Jesus was sacrificed, He had
to be finished, He can't raise again. If He raises again, what's the use of
that sacrifice? That body disappeared. The things concerning Him had to have an
end.
35 So what do the people say? There
is an example at the time of Abraham, instead of Isaac they have to kill a
lamb, and it died as Isaac, and real Isaac came to life. That is why Christ
Jesus says: “Nobody can kill Him, but He has power to give His life and take it
back.”
36 So when Jesus died, because He
had no sin, He disappeared and nobody could find Him. But they saw somebody else
instead of Him. That is the 'Human Christ'. Because of that death, we all get
life to overcome death. And also Narayana can come into His own body to the
earth, otherwise He will burn the whole world.
37 So, many people today do not know
why God had to come down. When the Spirit of Narayana comes into everybody, he
is an Avatar. Avatar will die.
38 Avatar is like a prophet. So
Jesus died and Rama died, Krishna, and all these people died. But only one
person's body was redeemed by Narayana, which is His own body. And into that
body He has to come. When He comes into His body, that body cannot die. And
everybody who goes into Him, they cannot die. So the question is, whether you
are going in, or not.
39 One man said: “I love a girl, she
is in me and we both are in Bro. Lawrie.” That is not hundred percent love. You
don't understand this, some of this people. That is why Paul said: “I am
preparing a chaste virgin for Christ.” He was not preparing for Himself, that
great man. Today people are preparing for themselves and for their stomach.
40 In the same way, when the people
started doing ahimsa6 and
preaching non-killing - and this killing of animals and everything stopped. So
God had to modify to save His people. So He comes down carrying the sacrifice
in Himself. That is why, I am coming into you to take away your karma.
41 I am not telling you a lie. I am
not telling to come to my church or anything like that. I don't have a church.
God sent me and told me: “In India there are lot of people whose karma will go
away and they will be My people.” If you doubt, meditate and see whether I am
telling the truth.
42 So I want to touch you and pray,
and then you will hear my voice, and my sheep will hear my voice. And when I
touch you, don't be stiff. Allow as if you are going to get the blessings. Open
your heart as you are going to receive water from a tap. Confess all your
failures.
43 If you have any debts for
anybody, try to settle it. If you have cheated anybody, settle it. If you have
stolen something, give it back. This will stop your blessing. Determine today,
if you have other people's books in your shelf, give it back. If you are having
all these things, settle it. And decide to settle it. And when I touch you, the
peace comes in. How I found this?
44 When I was in America, about
nearly forty coloured people, that is Negroes came. And they were very bad
people. They came to see me. So they said: “Bro. Lawrie, we are not happy, so
please pray.” Each is having a revolver and one bottle of brandy each, and a
tin of cigarette, and they are all talking dirty language - that means, rough
language. Everybody is very big: Four hundred pounds, four hundred and fifty
pounds, that is about four times bigger than me. I blessed them. Everybody got
shanthi7. They jumped. I said: “How can you get
shanthi when you are so bad?” Then God's voice came to me and said: “Don't
blame them as bad people, that - such is the people I want.” Today they are
going up and down in America, bringing many people to God. If I touch you and
you get peace, you tell your people about this and get them peace.
45 Now suppose, my wife is in India:
- One man came to me, “Brother, why don't you keep some image in your house?” I
told him like this. “I am in Ceylon; my wife is in India. She is having my
photograph. When I came to see my wife in India, she will not say: ‘First of
all put a garland for your picture and then come to me. That's an important
thing.’ I'll say, ‘That is my photograph; I have come, then why should I look
at the photograph?’
46 If you get the peace - I can't
give the peace if I don't have it. This is not ordinary peace. When it comes
into you, immediately you'll know who I am. You are not paying anything, it's
free. Because when I touch you, your karma goes away. Then peace comes in. Then
you touch your Creator. Then don't worship a creature. Then you will get the
blessing and the peace will remain. Then go to your relations and everybody and
tell about this peace and get it, and then you do what you like.
47 And very soon, when this life
comes to you, you won't die, you will go in glory. Narayana comes down to take
you in glory without death. Because you were created before the foundation of
the world, to be with Narayana. So that is why God comes down to take you. Then
terrible destruction will come in this earth. Then Dharma Yugam8 comes.
48 So all the people in India: There
may be many Bhagawans, but Narayana came to give you health and overcoming
power over death. That is why we have come here. It is free! Nobody is paying
for this. It's the Bhilai people who loved you all and brought us here. God
bless you. Narayana bless you.
